Visit Fort Worth to Honor Dickies Arena at 11th Annual Meeting

Fort Worth, Texas (November 8, 2023) – Dickies Arena, the internationally recognized multipurpose arena that has helped transform the local sports and music industries, will be honored with the Visit Fort Worth Hospitality Award at the 11th Annual Meeting on February 15, 2024.

Each year the Visit Fort Worth Hospitality Award is given to honor a person, company or organization that has made significant contributions to developing, marketing and delivering visitor experiences for Fort Worth’s travel, tourism and hospitality industry. This year’s award is presented by Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP.

“Dickies Arena has changed the landscape of Fort Worth,” said Bob Jameson, president and CEO of Visit Fort Worth. “It has put our city on the map as a destination for major concerts and sporting events. We are thrilled to honor Dickies Arena for all its contributions to our city and the hospitality industry.”

Dickies Arena opened in 2019 and has made significant contributions to the hospitality and entertainment industries in Fort Worth by providing hundreds of jobs to locals, becoming the home to the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and landing major events like NCAA Women’s Gymnastics, NCAA Basketball, WTA Tennis and a diverse variety of concerts, comedy shows and special events, attracting visitors from all over the world.

“This is a tremendous honor to receive Visit Fort Worth’s Hospitality Award. The success of Dickies Arena is without a doubt due to the people of Fort Worth and their unwavering support since its inception. We have hosted more than 530 events and entertained close to three million people and we continue to look forward to going bigger and better,” said Matt Homan, President and General Manager of Dickies Arena.

“And none of our achievements would be possible without the dedicated and incredible staff of more than 120 full-time and 1600+ part time team members of Trail Drive Management Corp.”

Dickies Arena is the result of a pioneering public-private partnership between the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, the State of Texas and a group of private-sector participants, including foundations, individuals and organizations. Dickies Arena is owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by the not-for- profit operating entity, Trail Drive Management Corp. (TDMC).

Past recipients of the Hospitality Award include Stockyards Heritage, Museums of the Cultural District, the Fort Worth Zoo, DFW Airport, Holt Hickman, Leon Bridges, Dr. Opal Lee and Joe T. Garcia’s.

The annual meeting brings together tourism, business, sports, hospitality and creative industries to celebrate growth, collaboration and community. Annual reporting such as economic impact for visitors, sports and film are shared along with visitation numbers and local visitor spend.

The keynote speaker will be announced later this fall. Past keynote speakers include hotelier Liz Lambert, legendary music producer, T-Bone Burnett and “CBS Sunday Morning” correspondent Mo Rocca.

A call for Beyond Award nominations will be released in November. Visit Fort Worth invites employers in the hospitality, restaurant and tourism industries to nominate an outstanding employee for their incredible service and commitment.

Tables are available for purchase starting at $817 and individual tickets are $75. Both can be secured at FortWorth.com/Annual
